Penn State fans heading south to watch the Nittany Lions take on the Florida Gators in the Outback Bowl on New Year’s Day can get revved up the day before on the waterfront in downtown Tampa, Fla. A Penn State Pep Rally is slated for Friday, Dec. 31 at the Channelside Tampa Convention Center, 333 S. Franklin St.
The pep rally begins at 3:30 p.m. (doors open at 2:30) and will feature the Blue Band, cheerleaders and the Nittany Lion mascot. Fans will also hear comments from coach Joe Paterno, the Lions’ team captains, Penn State President Graham Spanier and others.
The pep rally, sponsored by the Penn State Alumni Association and the Nittany Lion Club, is free and open to all fans. For more information, visit the Alumni Association’s website.
